About the Teachers

My name is Shannon and I am a junior at Penn State studying Art Education and Advertising. I have a wide variety of interets which you can probably tell since I have two majors! In my free time I enjoy art, music, fashion, shopping, pilates and hanging out with my friends. My favorite type of art right now is oil painting; I am in an oil painting class right now and I find it to be fun. I am inspired to look at things in a 3D manner now that I have learned some things about 3D printing. It's really awesome how art and technology evolve together! I hope you enjoy this lesson that I have worked on with my collegue Kayla; we had a great time thinking up an idea. :)

Hi everyone! My name is Kayla and I am a double major in Art (BA) and Art Education! I am also getting two minors in Art History and Special Education. I really enjoy painting (especially oil painting) and drawing. However, I have also taken foundry (metal sculpting), in which I 3-D printed a raw chicken leg, then casted it in bronze and a flexible mold-making class, which I also found really great. I just love everything about art-making and being creative in general! Outside of art, I really love to cook and bake, hang out with my friends, and of course watch Netflix. I’m also very involved with THON at Penn State, which is a HUGE dance-a-thon we have every year to raise money in pursuit of a cure for pediatric cancer. If you’ve ever seen Penn State students collecting money in cans on the side of the road for THON, I might be one of them! Shannon and I really hope you enjoy our WebQuest and learn more about how many different types of careers use creative problem solving!
